As well as booking your accommodation at Tourist Information Centres, you can book tickets for local theatres, festivals and events. Pick up leaflets, guidebooks, souvenirs and travel information. Find out about activities in the area and check the What's On Guide. Tourist Information Centres dates and times of opening do differ slightly. Take advantage of local knowledge and contact the nearest TIC to where you intend to stay or visit.

THE PEAK DISTRICT AND DERBYSHIRE
Visitors are attracted to the Peak National Park both by the rugged scenery and natural beauty of the gritstone Dark Peak, and the the more gentle limestone White Peak with its lovely river valleys. So much so that over 22 million people visit the National Park each year. Only one other National Park in the world receives more.
The Peak District and Derbyshire have many wonderful places to visit, from peaceful villages to busy market towns. To stately homes like Chatsworth House, 'The Palace of the Peak' and further south the National Trust Properties of Calke Abbey, Kedleston Hall and Sudbury Hall.

ACCOMMODATION
Although many visitors stay for the day only, lots more both from home and abroad holiday in the Peak National Park and the surrounding area.
In fact more and more day visitors are now realising that their visits can be made even more enjoyable, if they take a short break and avoid a tiring journey home on the same day that they arrive.
