PINE LOG CABIN HOLIDAY ACCOMMODATION THE FEATURE As the United States began to grow and prosper, the settlers took full advantage of the tall slender hardwood trees that they found growing in profusion in their new homeland. The heart pine was declared the “King’s wood” because of its strength and durability and was used for shipbuilding. As settlers moved south, the heart pine was steadily logged and was used for log cabins in the 1700s and 1800s, and later for the construction of large Victorian houses, hotels and even palaces.
Today, pine is used in the heart of Derbyshire and the Peak District National Park, for self-catering Pinelodges that provide the ultimate in quality accommodation for holiday makers at two Country Parks. Darwin Forest Country Park: set in 44 acres of stunning woodland in between Matlock and Bakewell, just 5 miles from Chatsworth House and Gardens. Sandybrook Country Park: situated just outside Ashbourne, the southern gateway to the Peak District and a few minutes drive from Alton Towers theme park.
Both parks provide the same high quality Pinelodge accommodation, each lodge furnished and equipped to the highest standards to provide an enchanting holiday environment. The lodges are available for short or long breaks.
All facilities are available throughout the year. Reception is open 8.30am to 8pm each day. The swimming pools are open 8.45am to 7.30pm. All lodges have their own parking areas to take two cars. Additional vehicles should be left in the main car park.
