DERBY PUBS

BRICK AND TILE

Location:  On the left hand side of Brick Street, between Markeaton Street and the top end of Friargate.

Historical Information:  Established sometime before 1750, when the cattle market was held at the west end of Nuns' Green. The pub has been much altered since it was built in the early17th century, and may have been an inn since then.

Curiosities:  The pubs original address was Nuns' Green. It may well be that its name has been taken from the brick yard, that flourished there  in the 18th century and probably for part of the previous century.
