CAVENDISH ARCADE

BUXTON

THE FEATURE

The Cavendish Arcade at Buxton was originally designed as a thermal bath in 1854. In1987, it was redeveloped as an attractive shopping arcade, which is very popular with visitors and local people alike.

Apart from the shops, the arcade features the original plunge bath and chair as well as much of the original Minton tiling. The stained glass vaulted ceiling designed by Brian Clarke is the largest stained glass window in Britain.
